Walton Hosts Mental Health Awareness Campaign at Jahangirnagar University

A seminar titled “Let’s Talk About Mental Health” was held at Jahangirnagar University (JU) on Saturday, November 16, as part of a social awareness campaign organized by Walton Laptop.

The event, hosted in Room 117 of the Philosophy Department, was led by Imdadul Haque, Head of Programs for the Social Awareness Campaign. The seminar’s chief guest was JU Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Kamrul Ahsan.

Notable attendees included Walton Digi-Tech Industries Limited's Additional Managing Director Liakat Ali, renowned actor and Walton Senior Executive Director Azizul Hakim, Walton Computer’s Chief Business Officer Touhidur Rahman Rad, and Channel 24 Senior Journalist Maksud Un Nabi.

During the seminar, Walton showcased a variety of its tech products, including laptops, drawing significant interest from attendees. Guests also expressed interest in collaborating with the university’s Student Welfare and Counseling Center to organize further mental health initiatives.

Speaking at the event, Liakat Ali emphasized the importance of student engagement in activities beyond academics, such as seminars and symposia. He reiterated Walton's commitment to supporting students and expressed eagerness for collaboration with the university.

Senior Journalist Maksud Un Nabi highlighted the pressures faced by journalists, linking them to broader social and political challenges. He urged students to play a proactive role in building a progressive Bangladesh.

In his speech, Professor Dr. Kamrul Ahsan underscored the significance of inclusivity and compassion in societal development, advocating for opportunities for self-correction and genuine implementation of the principles rooted in the spirit of Bangladesh’s liberation.

The seminar concluded with a strong commitment to advancing mental health awareness and fostering collaboration for student well-being.
